Hold on to Small Pleasures, Let Go of Big Fears

Along the way of our journey through life, we have many experiences – some good, some bad. Holding on to the occurrences of the past does not allow us to grow. Thinking only of the future also stops us from living here, in the Now, and keeps our focus on something that ‘may’ happen. This fear or apprehension may prevent us moving forward. How often do you look back with regret that you didn’t make the choices and decisions that aligned with your passions, instead, submitting to the ideas and will of others – parents, peers, work, society? Our prior experiences influence who we are, how we think and how we live our lives. The past is gone and the future never comes. Let them go and focus on today.

We don’t know what lies ahead, and the past is now behind us

Take each moment as it comes, appreciate the time you have NOW, and live it to the fullest, with awareness, good intention and positive action as much as possible! Each day, allow yourself to make choices that bring you pleasure, excitement and fulfillment. Live your dreams and passions every day. Let go of all the fears you may have, either from the past, or regarding the future. Allowing your thoughts to only focus on the positive, will rewire your brain, attracting even more of the same to enter your life.

Tomorrow never comes, there is only ever the Now. Live your life with passion and endeavour to see the good in every situation, no matter how bad, and you will create a better future. If you can learn to be happy in everything you do, and appreciate the minor events in your day, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, your life will be richer. You will no longer look back with regret, but with a sense of satisfaction that you lived life according to your own ideals and dreams. Every small pleasurable moment has value. Don’t let them pass you by.

Every endeavor takes much practice… I know for me ..I am grateful that I have learned to stop looking back and love me (all of me) for me. This can be a tuff one and is easy to falter, like with many others. This post is a great reminder to be in the NOW…(work in progress, here πŸ˜‰ Namaste..

    • 2flames1soul, it is certainly true that everything takes practice. It is not always easy to live as we should, but sometimes the greatest lesson lies in the recognition of what we do and how it affects not only ourselves, but others – that in itself is a big step!
